| Worth Cooley-Prost works in fused glass and mixed media
in Arlington, Virginia. Largely self-taught as an artist, her academic degrees
are in the social sciences, and she worked in human services before moving to
the Washington DC area in 1980 to work in biomedical research. Worth has also
published articles, fiction and poetry. A mid-life career shift to fine crafts
began several years ago. Worth has studied fused glass with Judith Conway and Shirley Webster. Her work is influenced by deep roots in North Carolina's coast and mountains, a decade of attachments in Haiti and, more recently, trips to the American southwest. She is a member of the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild, the National Capital Art Glass Guild, and the International Guild of Glass Artists. Worth has sold her work in galleries and fine craft shops in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and North Carolina. |
